CSC Student Awards

 The CSC recognizes outstanding contributions by chemistry graduate and undergraduate students.

 Nominate an individual or group for a CSC Student Award or Scholarship: top

Click on the award name for its Terms of Reference and instructions on how to nominate an individual or group.

Alfred Bader Scholarships: Presented as a mark of excellence for achievement in organic chemistry or biochemistry by undergraduate students completing their final year of study in an Honours program. Up to three scholarships may be presented annually.

Graduate and Undergraduate Student Division Awards: Many Divisions provide awards for poster and oral presentations at the CSC conference or travel awards for graduate and undergraduate students to attend national or international conferences. For more information on student awards, visit the Subject Division and Local Section websites or check out the student program on the upcoming conference website.

Faculty Advisor Award: Presented to one faculty advisor from the CSC who has demonstrated exceptional performance working with students. This award is a Student Chapter nominated award.

Reg Friesen Award for Best Oral Paper: Presented to encourage students to present oral papers of general interest concerning chemical education.

Silver Medals:Presented to the top students at each Canadian university entering their final year of chemistry, biochemistry or related programs.

Student Chapter Merit Awards: Recognizes and encourages initiative and originality in Student Chapter programming in chemistry.
