Terms of Reference
The CSChE offers two CSChE Chemical Engineering Local Section Scholarships annually to undergraduate students in chemical engineering at a Canadian university.
Deadline: April 30 of every year
Sponsor: The Edmonton CSChE, the Sarnia CIC and the London CIC Local Sections. The scholarships are funded by the proceeds acquired at the 1979 Chemical Engineering Conference held in Sarnia, Ont. (formerly presented as the Sarnia Chemical Engineering Community Scholarship), the 1988 Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference held in Edmonton, Alta. (formerly presented as the Edmonton Chemical Engineering Scholarship) and the 1998 Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference held in London, Ont.
Award: A certificate and $2,000 cash for each scholarship. Two scholarships will be given out annually.
Eligibility: The applicants must be undergraduate students in chemical engineering entering their final year of studies at a Canadian university. The scholarships will look at leadership qualities and demonstrated contributions to the CSChE such as participation in Student Chapters as well as academic performance. Applicants must be paid undergraduate student members of the CSChE.
Application: A letter of application should document contributions to the Society. Please provide a copy of the application including the following:
- a transcript of academic performance
- two (2) letters of support
