Canadian Green Chemistry and Engineering Network

Canadian Green Chemistry and Engineering Network
of the Chemical Institute of Canada

Who we are:

The Canadian Green Chemistry Engineering Network (CGCEN) is a multidisciplinary organization bringing together leading researchers in chemistry, biochemistry and chemical engineering with policy makers, industrial partners and professional organizations in the areas of alternate and conventional energy, chemical and biochemical manufacturing processes, new materials, and pharmaceuticals. CGCEN considers the whole innovation cycle from invention to industrial implementation.

The CGCEN works with the G8 International Green Network to promote its vision on a global scale.

Vision:

To apply best practices in green science and technology for the benefit of Canadians.

What we do:

  • The network promotes the green chemistry and engineering symposia at the CIC’s conferences, workshops, and seminars.
  • The network promotes green chemistry and engineering articles for Canadian Chemical News (ACCN) and other publications.
  • The network works with and develops strategic relationships with other similar types of global organizations such the American Chemical Society’s Green Chemistry Institute.
  • The network provides networking opportunities between research and industry.
  • The network works with partners to provide expertise in policy making.
  • The network promotes an awards program for green chemistry and engineering.
  • The network promotes green chemistry and engineering in outreach programs.
