The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes chemical professionals whose work is significant to the chemical sciences and engineering. It also recognizes exceptional service by a CIC member, over and above the FCIC level of membership.

Terms of Reference:
The CIC Lifetime Achievement Awards are the highest honour for CIC members. They are awarded to individuals for exceptional contributions to the chemical professions in Canada.
Nominations must be sponsored by at least five CIC full members in good standing.
Achievements
Each nomination shall be accompanied by supporting information comprising, at a minimum:
- a letter of recommendation from each nominator;
- the candidate's curriculum vitae;
- a description of the contributions that shows clearly why the individual merits this special recognition.
Procedures
Sponsors from outside the candidate's institution are desirable. Selection of a nominee for a Lifetime Achievement Award requires unanimous approval by the CIC Board of Directors.
Full documentation on each nominee shall be submitted to the chair of the CIC Board through the executive director at least two months in advance of the board meeting at which the vote will take place. Alternatively, with the agreement of the CIC Chair, the vote may be carried out by mail ballot.
