YouTube Contest

The "It's Chemistry, Eh?" YouTube contest challenges students in high schools across the country to communicate chemistry concepts in a fun and creative way. The contest was created for the International Year of Chemistry in 2011, this year it's back by popular demand.

This year's videos fall into one of three categories:
- the benefits of chemistry in everyday life
- contributions of a recognized chemist
- busting a commonly held myth about chemistry

Winners were judged on educational value, accuracy of content, quality of information, ability to effectively communicate ideas, creativity, relevance to the theme and production value. The winners received prize money to put toward further education. The contest closed on November 30, 2012 and the winners were announced December 12, 2012.

Below you can see the winning videos along with the runners-up. Thanks to all who participated, and we hope you enjoy these adventures in creative chemistry communication!
